Wedding | Marianne & Geoff | Archeo, Distillery District, Toronto

Archeo Wedding | Jessica Blaine Smith
Holy heck, I am excited to share photos from Marianne and Geoff’s wedding! There are about a million and one things that I could write about this awesome day – but for the most part, I will let the images speak for themselves.

You may recognise Geoff not because he may look like a certain celebrity but because I photographed his twin brother, Andy’s wedding in 2012. Not only are the guys twins, but Marianne has her own twin sister Catherine! The forecast for the wedding was 80% showers all day. I always tell my clients to not worry about the weather because it usually always works out and May 3rd was no different: while it rained a bit, we did have some breaks in the weather where we could safely go outside. Even still, we had to take full advantage of the colourful umbrellas that they has bought just in case we needed them. We started the day at the Hilton Downtown to photograph them getting ready and to document Marianne and Geoff’s “first look” before heading to the Distillery District. Their ceremony and reception took place at one of my most favourite venues in the city: Archeo. I love photographing here. Becky of Blush & Bloom worked her wonderful magic not only on the incredible bouquets but also on the decor for the room. It was seriously breathtaking. Marianne’s talented Mom made the decadent four layer cake. I love personal touches like that. Marianne and Geoff are big softies and the entire day involved a lot of tear. During their final speeches, Geoff jokingly said “If you are tired of watching a grown man cry, I suggest you turn and face the other side of the room because I am not stopping.” I loved it. Congratulations Marianne & Geoff! You are an awesome couple and I am so thankful that you chose me to document such a big day in your life.
