When I tell my clients that I want to do their engagement portraits at sunrise, I usually hear groans. Getting up at 4:30am to do anything other than getting on a plane to a tropical vacation usually does not seem worth it. But when you see the images that you get from such an early portrait session, you will soon forget the pain of getting up at that hour. Always trust your photographer for when it comes to light and getting the best of it. For Colleen and Keith’s engagement session they wanted a mix of nature and urban backdrops. We met close to sunrise along Lake Ontario in Toronto to catch some dreamy light before heading to Parkdale for some urban portraits. The session then ended at one of my favourite spots in the neighbourhood – The Tempered Room. No one can resist their sweet treats!
